YouTube is Dying, but MySpace is Making a Comeback
YouTube is Dying, but MySpace is Making a Comeback: YouTube has been the most popular video platform on the internet, but that’s changing fast. Even though more people are watching more videos than ever, video views have declined as much as 23% over the past year, and most of that traffic has gone to other sites like Amazon and Facebook. The reason why? People don’t want to watch ads to watch free content anymore. Instead, they’re turning to platforms like Vimeo and Dailymotion, which offer ad-free experiences in exchange for a monthly subscription fee of $5 or $10.
The Age of Influencers Has Arrived
The internet has undergone a massive shift in the past 10 years. Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter have played an important role in shaping how we communicate with each other and share information online. But now these social networks are being replaced by newer technologies and things like social networks (think tik tok), which are more intuitive and interactive than the traditional networks that dominated the internet for so long. When Google first launched YouTube in 2005, it was one of the most popular websites on the web. Users could upload videos about anything and anyone could watch them. Today, YouTube is dead - but what’s replacing it? Social media networking site TikTok is becoming more popular as social networking sites dwindle because it allows users to create their own content instead of passively watching it from someone else. It may be hard for us to imagine the change because we are still so dependent on social media, but there will come a time when new generations won't even know what YouTube or Facebook, or Twitter means.
Facebook is Helping People Watch Their Favorite Creators’ Videos on Its Platform
Facebook has been helping people watch their favorite creators’ videos on its platform. This week the company introduced a new video tab on Facebook Watch that will offer up an endless stream of videos from the people and publishers you follow on the social network. This feature comes as Facebook continues to face criticism for airing inappropriate videos and content in its News Feed. It also joins YouTube which was once seen as the pinnacle of online video sharing but now struggles with issues such as spam, fake news, hate speech, and other forms of abuse that led Google to announce plans last week to begin policing some videos for violations starting this summer. Meanwhile, other platforms such as Tik Tok have become popular alternatives.
Instagram Stories (And the Coming Death of Snapchat)
Instagram Stories are the new social network. They're all the rage these days and Snapchat's growth has stalled. In fact, Instagram has surpassed Snap in monthly users! Of course, there's no definite answer as to which social media platform will be around for the long haul, but it does seem like Instagram stories are gaining traction. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Is YouTube dead? According to YouTube, it may very well be and that might not even be such a bad thing... The rising platform seems to be e-sports with game players earning millions of dollars through sponsorship deals. And while there are definitely plenty of people who can make money through streaming and promoting on YouTube (not necessarily gaming), more millennials aren't opting into that line of work. Instead, they're turning their eyes towards Facebook Live where they don't need any fancy equipment or editing skills to engage with viewers who can tip them along the way. This is where MySpace comes back into play... Remember them? I sure do!
How to Get Started With Live Streaming
Live streaming to YouTube and Facebook has become the new thing to do. With these sites, you can share moments in real-time with the people that matter most to you. Although live streaming takes some getting used to, it's not too tricky to set up and get started on YouTube or Facebook. Here are some simple steps for getting started on each site.
1. Connect your phone to WiFi
2. Open the YouTube app
3. Tap the + sign at the bottom of your screen (left)
4. Choose Stream now under Live Streaming
5. Choose More options, which include privacy settings

How You Can Become an Influencer Even If You Don’t Have Millions of Followers
You might not have millions of followers on your social media account, but that doesn't mean you can't become an influencer. There are many ways to get noticed and impact the world without millions of followers. One way to do this is by getting involved in social justice issues and using your voice to speak up for what you believe in. Another way is by following the right people on Twitter and Instagram and talking about their content rather than just posting selfies all day long. If you can find something you're passionate about or want to talk about then there's no limit as to how far your influence will go. You don't need fame or fortune to be an influencer-you just need passion and dedication.
Changing How We Interact With Consumers
Facebook and Twitter have completely changed the way we interact with consumers. They've also made it much easier to get feedback on products and ideas before they are released. When you're in the process of creating your content or product, it's important to think about where your audience is spending their time. If you're trying to reach tech-savvy males who are between 18-34 years old, then YouTube might not be the best place for that content because it isn't where people go to find what they want to watch anymore. It's smart for companies like GoPro to use Facebook Live because that's where their potential customers are now residing.
A New Kind of Fame Is Taking Over the Internet
The internet has changed the way that we watch and produce content. The old-school way of going to school and getting a job is no longer the norm. Instead, everyone is becoming their own boss with social media as their platform for success. In this new world of entrepreneurship and creativity, YouTube is dying and something new is replacing it.
Myspace was once considered one of the most popular websites in America before it lost popularity around 2009 to Facebook and Twitter. Nowadays Myspace has experienced an increase in traffic due to these sites not being able to provide what they want out of social media.
